Okja is a touching tail about a young farmer girl in South Korea tasked with raising a new life form called super pigs. The intelligent pick becomes her best friend over the 10 year program. When the program Okja is taken from her to a slaughter house for the new breed of pig will be mass produced for a cheap super food. She risks everything trying to save her loved Okja from an evil corporation. The movie is vary well made with great cinematography. the enormous super pigs look vary realistic and the animation for them blends in perfectly with the rest of the live action movie. For the first half of the movie much of the dialog is spoken in Korean which was a little donating for me for i’m vary dyslexic. I had to pause the movie multiple time to read the flying subtitles. But for the average reader this would be no issue. It is a vary heart wrenching film and made me tear up a bit when they took Okja and to see the girl cores down the mountain top. Overall a great film with a compelling story that symbolizes today’s society with our massive animal farming and slaughterhouse ways.
