Blazing Saddles (1974)

Blazing Saddles is a movie that is defiantly not for everyone. Based on in the old western cowboy times there is defiantly a fair amount of racism within the movie. Much more so during the beginning of the film and eases up as the movie progresses. But there are a few times throughout the movie where your a little shocked what filmmakers could get away with in the early 70’s. But if you have thick skin and not really fazed by the racy statements of some of the characters it is a vary clever and funny film. It has a vary distinct Mel Brooks feel to it, understandably for he is the writer and director. For an old western movie there are many things that pop up that would not even exist in the portrayed time period for humorous effect and I find it vary funny. The film surrounds a black sheriff and a old bandit played by Gene Wilder trying to save there town from a greedy railway builder. The movie holds its comedic value through a large portion of the film and the last 15 minutes get extremely outlandish and off  the rails. It is a great movie for a good laugh and stupid fun but it is not a movie for the faint of heart.
