I was scrolling through the endless list of movies and TV shows on hula and I saw a movie as I was scrolling. Smokey and the Bandit, I had remembered seeing the cover briefly on a best Burt Reynolds movie list that was honoring his death. I didn’t really know what to expect, but I decided to give it a watch. Right from the start they laid the whole movie out. They have to get this beer from point A to point B without getting caught by the police. The movie had the set up and for the rest of the hour and half it was filled with glorious shot of Bandit tearing around in his hot 70’s Firebird Trans Am. Although there was times I found myself biting my knuckle in sadness for what they were doing to the poor beauty. But it made for some amazing Chase scene with the notorious Sheriff Buford T. Justice. The movie was also filled with terrible scripting and at sometimes some acting that was pretty laughable. But I don’t think either of those things detracted from the movie in any way, in fact it might have made it a little better in all honesty. The way Burt Reynolds pulls off his cool guy badass style that he is so famous for shows a lot in this movie. I would expect nothing less from a cheesy movie from the 70’s. Over all I loved the movie. 9/10
